I'm Varun, and honestly, this house is more than just walls—it's got that proper country-feel heritage look: high timber ceilings, slate floors, warm rustic timber everywhere. Think cozy country escape right in the middle of Melbourne, on a full acre block with green yard, trampoline out back, and plenty of room to breathe. No cramped share-house vibes here—just space, quiet, and comfort.
I live here full-time (busy with work, not big on small talk), and we are open to a small family, parents with kid, or a single parent. So it'll feel private, like your own slice of luxury. Why be open about stuff like politics? Because life's too short for awkward tension. I lean right—fan of One Nation, Trump, Musk, that kind of energy—and I'd rather we click from day one than discover we clash later. No debates needed; just easy, respectful living. If you're aligned (or at least cool with it), we'll get on fine. We're not aiming to be best mates—just housemates who don't dislike each other.
The Lifestyle & Massive Value The deal's simple: $440 a week covers everything—power, gas, water, free high-speed internet, and endless hot showers. To be clear: we spend a lot on keeping this house in top condition.
* 24/7 Climate Control: We have climate control running 24 hours a day. In the summer we keep it cool, and in the winter we keep the house at a warm 22° even at night.
* The Bills: We spend up to $40 a day just on climate control and about $80 a day on total utilities (electricity, heating, cooking, showering, etc.). This is all included in your rent, and you can use them as much as you want. Essentially, your rent is actually less than what we spend just on keeping the house comfortable and running
The Space & Perks
* Office/Study Room: There is a dedicated room to work from with desks and everything ready to go. I don't use it, so you can. If you work from home, that is completely fine and we can arrange that.
* Your Room: Big, fully furnished (bed, sheets, storage).
* Storage & Groceries: We have extra fridges and plenty of space for your groceries or any extra things you bring with you.
* Maintenance: I handle all the gardening, lawn mowing, and yard work. You don’t have to do any of that—just keep your own area and the house neat and tidy.
* Wellness: I have a professional hyperbaric chamber in the house (worth $25,000 brand new) which you are welcome to use. I also have ice baths, a sauna, and a red light setup.
The Essentials:
* One spot only—or a couple if we chat (might add a bit extra for use).
* Non-smoker—keeps things fresh.
* Three chill cats—they're friendly, but if you're allergic, probably not. No other pets unless we agree.
* Noise: Any shifts are fine, but we keep low noise from 10pm to 7am.
* Payments: Two weeks rent advance + one-month bond ($440).
* Checks: Once we choose a person, we will pay for the background and police check ourselves. You do not have to pay. Please do not apply if you have a criminal record.
* Long-term: 1+ years ideal. Four weeks notice.
