Hi there,
I thought it was only fair to introduce myself properly and be completely honest about my circumstances, as I understand that having someone new move into your home is a big decision.
I’m a husband and father of three, and I grew up a few hours west of Sydney. I’m very much a country boy at heart, and my family means everything to me.
A few years ago, I suffered a serious leg injury which left me unable to work for some time. Unfortunately, the financial and personal pressure that followed, including issues with my insurance, led me down a path I’m not proud of. I made some very poor decisions and became involved with drugs.
I don't say that to make excuses for my actions. I take responsibility for the choices I made, and I've had to face the consequences of them. What I can say is that I've learnt a lot from that period of my life, and I'm determined that it will not define who I am going forward.
I am currently participating in the Drug Court program, which gives me the opportunity to remain in the community while working through a structured rehabilitation program. It requires me to remain drug-free, follow strict conditions and maintain suitable accommodation within the required area.
For me, this isn't something I'm taking lightly. I am genuinely committed to changing my life and doing everything I can to successfully complete the program. My biggest motivation is my wife and my three children. My goal is to get myself back on track, complete Drug Court and ultimately return home to my family.
Because I'm originally from the country, I don't have a large support network here in Sydney. At the same time, moving my children or disrupting their schooling isn't something we want to do, which is why finding suitable accommodation in the area is so important to me.
I completely understand that my circumstances may raise questions, and I respect that everyone has the right to feel comfortable about who they share their home with. I'm more than happy to answer any questions honestly.
I'm not expecting anyone to overlook my past. I'm simply hoping someone will be willing to look at where I am today and where I'm working towards being tomorrow.
I'm respectful, family-oriented and genuinely committed to making the most of the opportunity I've been given. Having a stable and positive place to live would make a huge difference in helping me continue on the path I'm on.
